Involving a crew at a very early stage of the building process is crucial. Preferably, the Captain and engineer are employed some six to nine months prior to the yacht’s delivery. This serves as orientation so that these key people become familiar with the yacht’s systems and operational profile before commissioning. If required, training courses can be arranged, whilst this period will serve the operational needs of the yacht post-delivery.
