A superyacht can only be run successfully when a skilled and qualified crew are employed on board. Cornelsen & Partner carefully select crew and staff that not only carry all required certificates according to their positions, but work diligently to personally ‘know the people we place’, reaching far beyond paper qualifications.

When placing a crew on board a managed yacht, clear instructions for operating the yacht and its extensive systems are included in their list of services.

Involving a crew at a very early stage of the building process is crucial. Preferably, the Captain and engineer are employed some six to nine months prior to the yacht’s delivery. This serves as orientation so that these key people become familiar with the yacht’s systems and operational profile before commissioning. If required, training courses can be arranged, whilst this period will serve the operational needs of the yacht post-delivery.
